Lissette Romero Correa, CPLC

Lissette Romero Correa has probably been a life coach for most of her life but has now become a Certified Professional Life Coach.  She is certified through the Certified Life Coach Institute which is accredited by the International Coach Federation, the main accrediting and credentialing body for both training programs and coaches. She has the unique gift to be able to uplift those around her, with positive energy and rigor, that has made her the go to person for decades to her family, friends, and acquittances.  Her warmth and personable nature allow people around her to immediately feel good about themselves and see the world in a more positive light.

Lissette approaches coaching from a down to earth perspective, not from a pie-in-the-sky, all-is- wonderful perspective.  She has been through a lot of turmoil and obstacles in her life, so she understands where her clients find themselves. She also realizes that the struggles are what shape us, give us strength, and ultimately make us who we are.  She will nurture your unique talents to help you achieve your goals in life, work, and in relationships.

His main focus with individuals is short-term, solution-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. With couples and families, he uses emotionally focused therapy, along with techniques from the Gottman Method, which has shown to be the most effective in re-creating healthy and long-term bonds  He is a superb active listener and has a personal motto that he never gives up on anyone.  He will patiently guide you and his fellow therapists through the journey of self-discovery and self-fulfillment.

What Is Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy “talk therapy” has many forms and disciplines, but generally follows three distinct stages. The first step is identifying and accepting the issue at hand.  Often this involves getting past denial and repressed memories and feelings.  We go into denial and repression as defense mechanisms against painful events and realities.  Now, defense mechanisms have a bad reputation but generally can help us get through very difficult situations.  However, when these mechanisms start interfering with our functioning and cause us distress, they need to be addressed.  Sometimes acceptance can be the hardest part, individually and as a group.

The second stage is processing, which is in large part understanding how this issue has affected us and those around us.  This is the stage where positive change is identified and finally achieved.  From there, the final stage is truly letting go and moving on, not as denial but as an accepted and processed issue.  When you reach this final stage, there is a feeling of freedom and liberation.  You have conquered something that has pained you and possibly others for so long.

Reach out today and we will be glad to meet with you and start you through the process.

What is Life Coaching

Life Coaching is a growing and exciting field. A life coach is a type of wellness professional who helps you make progress in your life in order to attain greater fulfillment. Our life coaches can help you clarify your goals, identify the obstacles holding you back, and then come up with strategies for overcoming each obstacle. In creating these strategies, our life coaches target your unique skills and gifts. By helping you to make the most of your strengths, our coaches provide the support you need to achieve long-lasting change.

Life coaching is different than therapy.  Life coaching deals exclusively in the here and now while therapy also deals with past trauma and pain.  Bear in mind that insurances do not cover life coaching unless it is in conjunction with overlapping therapy.

Contact us today and we can determine how best to integrate life coaching into your counseling sessions, or how to work out an affordable payment plan.
